By the looks of it if you get the optional bluetooth you could use that, assuming the nokia lets you do that - lots of phones are artificially crippled by the network to stop you using the phone to connect other devices to the net.
I know with my phone I can make it pretend to be a wireless router, and use that to connect to the net the same way you'd connect to any wireless router. Might be an option. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0 -
No bluetooth Im afraid. Im not sure how to make my phone pretend to be a wireless router, any pointers please?
Failing that Im looking for a linux version of nokia pc suite if there is one.

It's possible. You need a bluetooth dongle (£5 on fleabay) that is compatible with Linux. Then pair it up to the phone
Then set the phone to use as a modem
However, most T&Cs forbid the use of a phone as a standalone modem and may charge loads for data downloads..0 -
The E71 is a Symbian phone so you could find a product called Joikuspot and install it.
This lets your mobile act as a Wireless access point using your mobile network connection.
Simply point your Elonex Onet to it and voila...
I have an all inclusive plan on my mobile with web browsing and do exactly this (not with an Elonex onet yet though - mines is on it's way ) .
This get's around the restrictions a lot of mobile networks put on using your mobile as a 'modem' as it's 'invisible' and looks just like you are using your phone web browser.
I've had a look for Joikuspot but can;t seem to find the 'free' version for your phone though I am sure it used to be free.
Anyway good luck.0 -
Thanks for the info.
I downloaded a free light version to try . Can only connect as local ( without internet ) . I have 3 computers that wont connect so suspect its the phone.
Im on O2 payg this week and read that if you select WAP it wont work ( wish I had of read that 3 hours ago).Contract sim arriving any day now so will try again .
Are any of you guys on O2? If so what settings please ( as in connection point like O2 postpay MMS, etc). I think O2 have a 200mb limit a month then silly money for extra so will have to install net meter or similar???? any ideas.
Good luck to you as well on your long wait for the Onet, some rumors have it that it may be October now.
