Maybe she liked what she saw martin!!!!!

On a tv show recently about spending a girl went up to someone in mcdonalds who was buying a value meal and she had a coupon but instead of going halves she wanted the free one!!!! I wouldnt have the cheek to do that!!!
  • Surely a true die-hard MSE'er would have changed the drink he'd picked up in order to take full advantage of the BOGOF offer? ;-)

I stopped a man in Asda last week and thrust a can of custard at him. I'd just seen him buy one can but they were BOGOF so I decided to chase him. :D

He went very red, thanked me and scurried off........ :D

I loved that show! It was quite funny how stupid the guy was and how silly it ended in front of the sainsbury's milk aisle! i am sure I would get on very well with this girl: an example that not all females are frivolous and big spenders but wise and smart!

I musgt remind you though, that she might have had her meal for free but she did give the woman, one of her vouchers! So she might have gotten her meal for free, but there was also something into it for the buyer!

I've used this ploy successfully in the past. I was using a park & ride car park and wasn't too impressed with the muddy field or having to pay £8 per car.

So......I wandered across to a couple I'd never met and asked them if they wanted to join the queue for the bus with Mr & Mrs Nile........and share the £8 cost between the four of us.

  • well i would do it with OH and pay half half... but i think if i was single, i would most probably do it... but i have hardly gone to McD's by myself. If I plan to go somewhere alone, i always bring my packed lunch!

When i used to work at Morrison's, i used to point out to people that there were special bogof on some other brand items instead of their usual thing. Also, I used to point out to my (stupid) manager when we had only one item left on a bogof offer... never looks good and frustrates the customer. But of course, no one listened to me...

  • I've always liked the idea of asking someone if they'd like to pay half-price if I've got a 2for1 coupon but usually lack the bottle on the day to accost strangers! I manage it occasionally though - but it's easier just handing over spares of coupons or tickets than sharing!

I quite enjoy being asked questions in Sainsburys though :D It happened twice last week - one an understandable approach at sight of Gromit mugs in my trolley, but the second was a bewildered chap who just couldn't find the coffee aisle.

It's a combined 'like to help' spirit and 'hate to see a waste' with a pinch of busybody I think!
