I know fire brigade stick on smoke alarms on the ceiling and they are similar weight. They are quite thick double sides stickers though not the ones I see in shops there about 5mm thickthey are battery operated ones, fireangel I think? Says the battery will go for 10 years without change i think

Hmm I have one from an adhesive wall hook that says it will support up to 1kg but I am not sure if that means for constant weight....Kavanne

callansdad wrote: »Hi all,
just a quick one to remind you all that most of the countries fire services are offering a free home fire safety visit, free smoke detectors, and more importantly for anyone that is Deaf or Hard of Hearing .... special smoke detectors that have vibrating pads for under your pillow and flashing lights too.
These can be very expensive to purchase and i would urge anyone who is or has a friend or relative who has hearing issues to contact their local Fire Service (not by 999lol)and request a visit and a detector.
As a firefighter i have fitted some of these and they are great pieces of kit ... so get one for free today!.0 -

Use glue (no more nails type) and a special pole to hold in position until 'fixed'. Preferred fixing method is to screw into position. If can't use these methods then 'velcro stick on tape' does the job! eg
