Hi all
Sorry if this has already been posted (I couldnt see it anywhere)...
Sainsburys are doing basics fruit and veg for 40p.
Items are:
Crunchy basics salad, 200g
Apples, 800g
Tomatoes, 450g
Pears, 800g
Oranges, 1kg
Carrots, 1.5kg
Onions, 1.5kg
Mango (each)
Melon
Offer ends Tuesday 2nd September.

is this as straightforward as it sounds? just stick it in the freezer? can you freeze slices of melon? sounds fascinating. i'd rather it went in the freezer than the bin.0 -
I used to work in a restaurant where we did this, get a load of melons, ball or cube them, freeze them, hey presto instant snack, dessert, breakfast etc, only the soft fruit part with no pips or skin tho'!!
Oh and only defrost at room temperature (doesn't take very long) or you'll end up with a load of mush!0 -

Anyone know if this is a long or short-term offer? Plus do you have to be there at the crack of dawn, as with the Morrison's 50p items, to get hold of them? May pop down now on the off chance they have some left.
