Hi
I've been looking at USB emergency id devices, such as this http://www.winhealth.co.uk/acatalog/medictag_medical_information_device.html
. They are very expensive, considering the cost of a low capacity USB device. Does anyone know of any freeware which I could put on a cheap USB so that when it is plugged into a USB port, it automatically opens onto a table or page of text?
Cheers

You want to look at U3 based USB devices - they are the ones that have app launching capabilities. Take a look here for more info - unsure if it can replicate exactly the medi USB key you linked to.0

It looks like a complete waste of time to me. I'm sure the first thing any medical staff would do is to check you for USB sticks and run them on archaic NHS systems.
You might as well just get your blood group tattoo'd on your wrist..0 -
Thanks, Theydon Bois, U3 seems like the best idea.
anewhope - I've contacted the PALS for the emergency services, to find out their view on these and whether they prefer engraved emblem-type id.
Cheers
