Hiya
Would is the normal proceedure? I bought a rain coat this week for Uni, listed as a 'brown coat' and it has arrived today and is black! LOL i know it sounds funny, but i want a brown coat and am a single parent and a student so i took my time and found one at the right price and the right colour (all in came to 7.99, which is a lot for me). The seller says if I am not happy (um no, it's THE WRONG colour!) she will refund me but only if I return it to her first (oh, and she's going on holiday for a week and a half, so i'll have to wait). But the thing is I don't really have 4 pounds to be returning it to her... if you see what I mean? She'll then only refund the item and the post and i'll have lost 4 pounds.
Oh gosh, writing it all out it seems pathetic, and I know once I finish uni i'll get a well paying job and oh wow will our lives be different LOL but right now I can't afford to 'lose' 4 pounds... and it doesn't seem fair.
What's normal in these situations? (if there is a normal? how many people list clothing as 'brown' when it is in fact black?! She even said in her email (no apology, btw) 'yeah, i said it was black too but the sales assistant assured me it was brown?!?!? bizarre).
Thanks for any help
ps I paid with paypal

Silly as it sounds it's probably easier at the amount it cost just to sell it on rather then send it back.0

I agree better to sell on, even if you do a paypal dispute they will insist you send the item back at your own cost. You would think as they sent you the wrong item, they would automatically send u the right one. Think they deserve an negNo you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!
Thanks to everyone who posts competitions. You are the stars of the board :T:j:T0 -
No better ways. Either sending it back at your cost or taking this wrong item.If it seems to good to be true, it probably is.0

If it was me as the seller (and I was in the wrong) I would ask you to send the item back which I would then check and assuming it was OK I resllable as new (or whatever) I would refund in full and offer to either pau the balance via PayPal or bank transfer.
My advice is keep it friendly at this stage explain your situation (don't go over the top though as that would irritate me) and say you will post it back in 10 days time (make sure you send it at least recorded) and ask them to refund in full and to credit your account with £4.
If they don't then email and ask them again, if they don't again then email and threaten a neg. If they don't again I'm afraid you will just have to lump and leave a neg, not much else you can do unless you wanted to go to court which is obviously silly for such a small amount.
Good luck.
PS To re-emphasise keep it as friendly as possible at the start.0 -
I know exactly what your going through. I bought some golf shoes which were described as new and only worn twice. When i get them there was a stud missing, they were dirty and stained and smelled like paint! Ive launched adispute and esculated it last nite and the seller offered me a £6 refund this morning and ill have to send the shoes back at a cost of £2.50 when I paid £10 for them. Its very unfair and i think the seller if in the wrong should be forced to pay return postage sadly paypal will not. Im set to loose out and you would be too so the people above are probably right, sell the coat on!

The seller will have to give full refund if you return the item if you win the claim, but you have to pay the return postage yourself. Dont forget to send it tracked. If it seems to good to be true, it probably is.0 -
