Hi ,any advice please. We have recently paid £450 for plans to be drawn for a loft conversion (to building regulations). Our conversion is now underway but hit a slight problem. Our builder thought there should be more supports in the roof than are on the plans,-the building inspector agreed. So this has now cost us an extra £350.Where do we stand in trying to claim some money back from the surveyor or am I just wasting my time? Any advice would be appreciated.

What has cost an extra £350? I presume that you mean the plans have had to be redrawn and this is where the extra cost is?
If they were wrongly drawn up then you should complain to the company that did them - they should be liable for mistakes. Try a telephone call followed by a letter if that gives you no joy. If that doesn't work then you should contact Trading Standards for free advice.0 -
Did your original surveyor submit the drawings for, and gain building regs approval?if i had known then what i know now0
