Originally with 2 agents. Sold (STC) on the 19th with agent A. Still occasionally look at Rightmove and noticed that agent B still had it showing but thought nothing more of it as I wasn't intending to consider any more offers or viewings. Looked yesterday evening and agent B still showed the property but it was now £ 10,000 less than it should have been. I rang them first thing and they said it was a problem with a change over they had done. Something to do with combining their offices details on Rightmove. Didn't make much sense to me but whatever. Agent A rings me earlier this evening and mentions that agent B still shows the property at the "wrong price". I told them that I had rung the other agent, explained their "excuse" and confirmed that I did not authorise any reduction. I now have the buyers surveyor booked to come Monday and I'm assuming this !!!! up won't affect that at all. However it will be slightly embarrasing if the buyer sees the wrong details on Rightmove before they are taken off.

I'de suspect it's more likely to be incompetance than intentional.
*Most* EAs are complete scumbags (there are a few exceptions) who will happily screw you over and destroy your life for a couple of quid, but they are also generally unable to produce enough brain cells from an entire office to fill a coffeecup.
They could still, however, cost you £10,000, in which case, you'll be taking them to court both individually and as a company. Suggest you call them and explain this to them, and make it clear you are more than happy to involve a solicitor.Bankruptcy isn't the worst that can happen to you. The worst that can happen is your forced to live the rest of your life in abject poverty trying to repay the debts.0 -
Spoiler from Agent B. Surveyor gets orders to value your house, looks it up on rightmove, sees wrong price, values yours at less than agreed price, your buyer's mortgage screwed because the valuation is too low, you screwed ... Agent B knows your buyer and consoles them by offering them other properties on their books.Originally with 2 agents. Sold (STC) on the 19th with agent A. Just having a suspicious turn of mind. After the uprising of the 17th June The Secretary of the Writers Union
Had leaflets distributed in the Stalinallee Stating that the people
Had forfeited the confidence of the government And could win it back only
By redoubled efforts. Would it not be easier In that case for the government
To dissolve the people
And elect another?0 -
Some things never change! Over 30 yrs ago was buying my 1st house and had been sent details of one by EA. Visited EA's office couple of days later, wanting to view and was told property's unoccupied, here are the keys, go and have a look yourself. So that evening went round to property which looked very occupied - it was, by new owners who had bought it through another EA!!!!If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

lincroft1710 That was obviously the vendors' fault, not the estate agents - it was them who left keys with an agent for a property which they'd sold.0

put your instructions re price in writing to the EA now...... then you will have some contemporaneous evidence if it all goes belly up later on0
