Your llord could be on one of the cheapest supplys and making a profit of 50% off your back you are well in your right to find out who the supplier is. I deal with landlords day in day out and most of them are happy for there tennants to choose the supplier so demand to see the bills.
for example he could be on websaver 3 but charging you the same as BG standard and you CAN claim this back. just to stir demand the gas safety inspection certificate or tell him you will arrange it and invoice him (as you are in your rights to do this)His Heart Proved He Was A RedSuarez, SuarezWe Bought The Lad From AmsterdamWe Know He's Not a Chelsea Fan.Fernando Torres = El Judas0 -

I think it would cause problems because we are trying to get him to redecorate at present.
Its the electricity that were are being charged on, gas is included in the rent and is only for the hot water. If you found my post helpful, please remember to press the THANKS button! --->0 -

I too would like to know how to set the meters , but with me its different , my landlord has asked me to find out how to set a fair price , for me and all other tenants,
So what do these things on the meter mean ? 12,5 and so on , what do they realate to?0 -
Try again , I too have problems with my meters , but its cause the landlord wants me to find out what a fair rate would be , so what do the things on the meter mean ? 12.6 and 13. 8 and so on and how do they relate to the price . I also have one meter with A and B rate on it , what you set that too and why ?
Somebody must have a simple equation for this or is everybody just getting ripped of for lack of knowledge ( my landlord is not ripping me off , but he dont know how anyway :-) )0 -
Hiya
Was just reading all your posts there, and to be honest - im surprised there is still coin meters in peoples houses!!!
If i were you, I would ask your landlord to see his bills for the property for the past 3 years, i would also ask him what he is charging you for the price per unit (of elect), most energy companies can charge anything form 9p to 13p per unit of electricity.
I have gas central heating in my property and the price per unit for elect is 11p - which isnt too bad, 17p is a bit steep, the price per unit for gas is 2p.
Hope this helps?!
