Help - will I get my loan?
SBA
Hi
I'd love it if someone could reassure me or let me know if a similar thing has happened to them:
I'm about the start a Teaching degree at the age of 31 but having made a last-minute decision to apply, my student finance application hasn't yet been processed.
However, I need to hand in my notice at work (in the next few days!) and I'm worried that I might not get my grant/loan as I started a degree 12 years ago of which I only completed 6 months. The Student Loans Company asked for proof of 'compelling personal evidence' for not completing the course (I have sent them a letter stating the reasons). Has anyone ever been refused a student loan on this basis? I paid back the last one in full.
Comments appreciated.

I had to send a letter stating my 'compelling circumstances' for not finishing my last degree too. Mine was literally a letter of about 5 sentences telling them that my previous course wasn't going to allow me the practical experience for the career i wanted. They accepted this as a reason and i am now getting a loan again.Student Debt: £8900 and rising.
Owed to the bank: £2200 and falling.
