Auxiliary towing Plug

Can someone please help me please?

My car has a tow hitch and two electrics plugs, road lights and auxiliary plugs.

The auxiliary plug does not appear to be working anymore (it did) ie I can not keep the fridge going in the caravan whilst travelling.

I have put a meter on the terminals of the car and it appears the power is not coming through.

Which two terminals carry the power?

Can anyone please suggest where to look now, where would it be connected to in the car?

http://www.watling-towbars.co.uk/towbars.html gives a good schematic of the wiring. You now need to find out where the relay has been hidden. :eek: Google 12s wiring gives loads of links.

The power from the auxiliary plug to the refrigerator should only be alive when the car generator is producing power. ( To stop a drain on the battery)

So you will only get a reading when the engine is running.

Sorry but I do not have a diagram to hand to tell you which terminals.

Are the other 12s circuits working? (could be the earth)

First place to check would be the socket, they are prone to corrosion. Take the wire out of the socket and test it
