Free car checks?

Is there a website that allows you to check info' on used cars, such as write off date, number of former keepers etc, for free?

I'm sure there was a linky on here previously..........

Until a few months ago the Autotrader website returned some of this info when you put in a reg number but now they charge £19.99. The RACs check is only £5, i did also find another cheap one at £3 but it was no where near as good as the RAC one.
