Need advice about these idiots at first they sent me a letter stating a enforcement officer was going to visit so I came to this site copied the letter asking for the agreement as I do not acknowledge this debt and I sent the £1 postal order I got a letter back with my £1 postal order say "We do not hold credit agreements at this office so you will have to get in contact with the creditor" so I did all the above and sent it to Aktiv Kapital who I must admit I have never heard of still no reply this week I get two letters on the same day from Buchanan Clark + wells for the same debt stating that their client will accept 50% of the debt and if I do not accept the offer legal action will be taken???? Do they not get I do not acknowledge the debt any advice on what I should do would be helpful.

Hi
Firstly BCW are talking out of their rear ends - they are legally required to provide the CCa if you request it. So you should not have been asked to contact AK.
Secondly, AK are well known here for buying debts that is not documented. Hence the offer to accept half the debt, as they have reckoned it is better to get this out of you than nothing.
We need some dates here - when did you write to BCW?If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Hi all
Just to let you know that I'm also being hounded by the above idiots about a debt which I suspect to be statute barred-I sent them the letter saying just that, now they have come back and said its not statute barred until end of September but as always they have not offered to send any proof of their claims. I contacted CAB who told me that as the onus is on them to prove their claims and if they persist to send them a letter stating that I have already dealt with this issue and if they continue with the threatening letters that I shall be reporting them to the authorities. Last I heard was last week when they said they were handing the case over to their Solicitors.
Any ideas or advice people-I would appreciate it thanks0 -
presuming that you put "I do not acknowledge any debt to your company" on your letter, stand by your guns.
The more often you respond, the more likely it is that you will put yourself at risk of acknowledging the debt.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -

I have only ever sent them 1 letter and that was the statute barred one and I wrote the I DO NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THE DEBT at the top of it. My CAB told me not to communicate with them and certainly not to talk about any debt with them, I await another letter shortly from their solicitors!0

Hello - I just wanted to say that I have had the same hassle as indicated, since Nov 2007 with threatening letters from BW+C. I have chosen to just ignore them, as they are not providing proof of a bill I dispute. Have recently received a letter saying that, 'they are offering me a once in a lifetime offer, of paying about 3/4 of the amount' if paid within 7 days.
Just ignore them as they are not following due process.0 -
BCW chased me a while ago for a debt that 100% is not mine. They sent me threatening letters so I sent them a letter saying I didnt acknowledge it. They didnt reply to that and sent me another demand threatening court proceedings within 7 days etc. So at that stage I made complaints to the financial ombudsman and trading standards which strangely enough woke them up. They sent me another letter saying that my CCA requested had not been correctly actioned and a CCA from the original creditor was on its way. They said the debt related to littlewoods extra and they had bought it from phoenix recoveries.
Well 2 months have passed since then and not a dicky bird!!!
btw....Ive never ever had credit from littlewoods, there is nothing on any of my credit files and BCW have never stated how old the debt is.0
