I've posted the recipe for veggie haggis on the indexed recipe page but I'll put it here as well - feel free to move it if I'm not allowed :o

Here you go! I make them in muffin tins and get 6-8, they're VERY filling! I freze then re-heat for 5mins on medium in the microwave. Enjoy!

100g/4oz onion, peeled & finely chopped

15ml/1tbsp sunflower oil
50g/2oz carrots, very finely
chopped
35g/11/2 oz mushrooms, finely chopped
50g/2oz red lentils
600ml/1pint vegetable stock
25g/1oz mashed, tinned red kidney beans
35g/11/2 oz ground peanuts
25g/1oz ground hazelnuts
30ml/2tbsp shoyu ( soy sauce)
15ml/1tbsp lemon juice
7.5ml/11/2tsp dried thyme
5ml/1tsp dried rosemary
generous pinch cayenne pepper
7.5ml/11/2 tsp mixed spice
200g/8oz fine oatmeal
Freshly ground black pepper

1. Pre-heat the oven to 190°C, 375°F or Gas Mark 5
2. Saute the onion in the oil for 5 minutes, then add the carrot and mushrooms and cook for a further 5 minutes.
3. Now add the lentils and three quarters of the stock.
4. Blend the mashed red kidney beans in the remaining stock, add these to the pan with the nuts, shoyu, lemon juice and seasonings.
Cook everything, well mixed together, for a further 10 to 15 minutes.
5. Then add the oatmeal, reduce the heat and simmer gently for 15 to 20 minutes, adding a little extra liquid if necessary. 6. Turn the mixture into a lightly oiled 1lb loaf tin and bake for 30 minutes. 7. Serve with mashed neeps and tatties.

Recipes as requested- they are all links so its a small post :).
Key lime pie, Chocolate fudge, Malt loaf - I am not sure if links can be added to the index (or does that cause copyright issues ?).
The lime pie is delish and the fudge, well it makes me :D when I eat it! I made half size pie (plenty enough for 4-6 people) and used the rest of the condensed milk to make the fudge (half amount again- plenty for a good tubful).
Another 50p off this weeks budget as DH got a lovely reduced WW loaf last night. Siggy updated.
Be back on to post total and declare for the month on Thur or Fri. Good luck in the meantime everyone!

HI just updating my sig, I spent £90 on my Asda onlie order so getting pretty closer to my zero now.
I've got loads of food now to last till the end of the month so should just need bread and milk and maybe some more bananas.

If anything, I've over-ordered for the freezer as my head has been just not with it this week, so should have more than enough meat/fish/chicken to take us into next month too.
5 packs of Batchelores savoury rice for £1 - a good deal but I haven't a clue what to serve it with, got loads of different meats etc.

Thanks for the recipe links OS :T I've added them to the index as there's no copyright isues in posting a link ;) (that I'm aware of lol) Thanks for the tip about using one tin to make both, I might try that as I've got some condensed milk lurking in the back of my baking cupboard :)

There's no need to post in small text BTW ;) I feel sad whenever I see your posts cos you're always apologizing or posting small but there's really no need. If your posts contain GC stuff and a bit of chat then they're fine. Its just the posts that are purely chat that are not allowed. Your posts are never just that ;) Please dont feel bad about posting :A

rockie I've added your veggie haggis recipe to the index but I've linked to your post on the recipe collection thread incase the BGs want to delete the double post.

I've got two weeks left for my GC as its a five week month for me. I'm doing well and I'm under budget so far :A with an average spend of £70/wk out of £75 GC budget (£90/wk actual budget from XOH). Tuesday's delivery is gonna be about £65 including nappies. Dont know how we used to manage to spend £110 a week :o

Good luck everyone for the rest of the month :)

• OH and i had to pop out to B & Q today so took the chance to nip into Sainsburys next door and do my last shop of the month. I spent £28.42 and got everything i needed to last me next week. I did next weeks menu plans this morning, and it really helped focus me on what i needed to buy so i will definitely be doing this from now on. This brings me to a total so far of £294.42, so i'm £14.42 over my target. TBH i'm not that unhappy with that as i feel i learned a lot this month by keeping a closer eye on my spending, and i got better as the month went on so i'm confident i can do much better in October! Hopefully i don't need to buy any more groceries this month and fingers crossed i'll be declaring the above amount as my total next Sunday. :D

Iwas peeling some squidgy apples today to put into a fruit jelly & musing on the idea of using the peelings like I did with the taiters. How do you think spraying with oil & sprinkling with sugar, or just dribbling with honey, & flashing under the grill would work?
Hi there BMF that sounds good actually with the apple skins,,, have you tried it yet ,, DH thinks it sounds good as well

went for a picnic earlier and went into MrAs to get some whoopsies ,,like bread rolls and do on ,,and I thought someone said there was 50 p butter ,,but I could not find it ,, but we got cheese topped rolls and cheese & onion rolls and currant buns all whoopsies

We ahve not done this for ages and will certainly do it again it was a good few hours on our own ..

see ya later
