Hey you guys, I am kind of back after having my eyes lasered  and as I had LASEK it takes longer to heal and so my eyes are still quite dodgy now and again and I can come on here and read a little and maybe do the odd post here and there before I get irritated eyes, also still light sensitive  so the lappy is quite hard to focus on sometmes too!
For all those interested the actual procedure was absolutely fine, no worries about that at all
Unfortunately, I will have to declare that sept is out of control and lost count due to this, but I will be back again for OCT!!!
I won't be able to catch up on posts either sorry I did notice the new guidelines tho
So far, apart from my lost count of spending, I have managed (with hubbys help) to get the Christmas puds and cake made :T and I have just done my first ever lot of frozen mushrooms too :j

Was in a little one today that i dont usually go to and they had lots of advertising of these discount brands, dont know if this is their way of competing with lidl and aldi. None of the brands were ones i recognised, so they are obviously adding new lines to their shelves. Hmmm, they looked more expensive than value but cheaper than leading brand
curiouser and curiouser.
Hi G&B - I was in Mr T's yesterday and noticed them - I was looking for the value bananas coz we get through so many and they don't do them any more aparently they only do the 'discount brand' - only had 6 bananas in it for 65p, so cheaper, but less in - not sure how that works out - I think some of it is replacing value lines - just rebranding and a ploy to make you think they are selling more cheap stuff? Not sure, will have to wait and see I think...
What annoys me is that they are sort of price matching their value ranges with the aldi/lidls stuff - 65p veg, etc, but the Aldi/Lidl stuff seems to me to be better quality - not value range, more like shops own range but same price as value - IYSWIM? Anyway, sorry to ramble - happy shopping...LBM April 2013 - £29,000.00Vanquis CC's PAID - Debenhams SC PAID - A+L OD PAID - Asda CC £783.75Barclaycard CC £1400.78 - BoS CC PAID - Freemans Cat PAIDF/D Loan & CC £1458.96 - Santander Loan PAID - Mum Loan PAIDRBS OD PAID - F/D OD £1026.52Weekly Grocery Challenge - £95.00 budget / spend £-0 -

I found a place nearby, which delivers a half lamb and a half pig.
The prices are for the lamb £1.80/lb and for the pig £1/lb

Hi there
Still have a week to go and not a lot left in budget. I think when I started grocery challenge I used to shop once a week and buy things I didn't necessarily need so overspent that way. But I have now found I am going into the shops too often and because of the offers on am buying more again (although no wastage yet!!) so need to get a happy medium, but I am grateful for all the tips as although I don't post very often I do read all posts so thankyou. I think I need to meal plan more!! I had to buy bread the other day and was atonished how much it had gone up Since I started GC I hadn't bought bread due to using my breadmaker.
I still have 7 green tomatoes on my one and only plant(DD bought it home from Brownies -had 6 or so lovely tomatoes so far ), is it a good idea to take them off and ripen indoors in case the cold gets to them or will they be alright outside still. Don't what to lose them as that wouldn't be very MSE!!
Right better go and mealplan me thinksThanks to MSE savings we got to go to Disneyworld Florida.
