Please Note!!! Do not ever use these sites and pay for your bids. They are not money saving sites, quite the opposite!

    Other sites include bidandclick.com, swoopo.co.uk and rapidbargain.com.

In fact MSE should write a warning article about these sites, if they haven't already.
    Thanks in advance,

You shouldn't lump all these sites in together.

People who have read my previous posts know my thoughts on Swoopo (formerly known as Telebid) and Rapidbargain.com (which seems to simply be an affiliate of Telebid). Swoopo and Rapidbargain are, in my humble opinion, very misleading and can easily rip off unsuspecting customers.

    However sites likes...

    Bidclever
    Gameplaybid
    Bidandclick
    Bidnation
    and others....

These are lowest unique bid auction sites and as such are prize competitions, not passing themselves off as genuine auction sites.

Its always a case of buyer beware.

I personally have won thousands of pounds worth of stuff from these kinds of sites, and I know of a few MSE posters who have as well!

So I would agree with you Batvink regarding Swoopo and rapidbargain, not for the sites I have highlighted in the past.

Besides this is a competitions thread...

Watch out for rapidbargain.com while it seems legit....it is in fact a form or gambling.....you have to buy bids for 40p each (buddles of 25,50,125,250..kinda like text buddles on mobile phones). Then you use these to actually bid on items such as PS3, x-boxes, cameras etc!

However.......(read on, it does get to the point soon I promise lol!)

Unlike auction sites such as ebay, when u bid on rapidbargain.....it only goes up a fixed amount at a time......5p! So you spend a 40p bid just to raise the auction price of the item (say a ps3) buy 5p.

Not to mention that others are bidding too! So I spent like 50 bids (£20) trying to bid on a PS3, that I didnt even win! But .....if u lose out, the bids are returned in the form of credit (i.e 25 bids @ 40p....hence £20 credit back). You CANT withdraw this credit OR use it to buy further bids....all it can be used for is to pay of the balance of any future autions you might win.

For example, if (& this is a BIG if!) you actually win an auction, say a sat nav for £30? then the credit can be taken of the final amount. So 30-20....means you only pay £10 for the won item.

But you can only redeem this credit for 30 days, if you dont win any other auctions, then you lose the credit forever. (& rapid bargain have £20 of your money for just a few frustrating clicks!)

You start of looking on the site, checking out the bargain prices & you're thinking...."wow i can snag a PS3 for £53!!!!! But convently enough (or it seemed that way to me) whenever you bid on a simlair item...the price never seems to go that low (on average they went for 100-120 & always just a few pounds over my autobid option).

The Hook for me was that I just placed the odd bid on a few different items, then moved on to the next. just clicking on the on bid once in a while.
Then rapid emails you to let you know that i lost the bid & how that item went for a ridiculously low price.

So I thought.....right I wont loose out on the next one! Bought more bids (nearly £50 worth...yikes!) & started to bid on another PS3. After I exshusted my bids, the auction was won by a 55p over my last bid. B*****kS!

Oh now I have £70 of credit in my account, which means I'm either forced to buy more bids,in the vague hope if i win I get to offset the final amount with the £70 credit I have.

After reading a few stories from other who posted on various forums via google, some poor woman spent over £320 on bids, with nothing to show for it.

It is a form of gambling, like a fruit/slot machine you are gambling 40p a time for the slim chance you might bag an expensive console or camera for next to nothing. The question is......how much do you keep throwing at it before you walk away licking your wounds? I hope its no more than £70 like I stupidly did....or even £320!
Sorry for the long winded explination, I just hope it sheds some light on rapidbargain.

This is why I have a real issue with Telebid, Swoopo, Rapidbargain

Its the same people, the same technology

    Avoid like the plague

By the way, the FREE TO ENTER auction on www.gameplaybid.co.uk has closed. Did an MSE poster win?

Does anyone know who the winner is???
