dripping extractor fan...please help!

Options
I have no bathroom window, just one of those annoying extractor fans which I hardly use! It has been dripping with water and am a bit wary because it is electric, would anyone have a clue why this could be!? If it is condensation like my other half says it is then will it be ok! I will get someone to look at it if I have to, I just thought that perhaps someone on here could offer me advice? ???

You must have a real big condensation problem for that to happen :-/

Does it drip all the time ,even when you aren't bathing/showering ???

Does it drip more /only when it's raining ???
It could be the outside seal has gone

or your extractor is blocked and therefore not working properly

I suppose I have to get someone in! I ddn't wanna do that becuase they would trapse mud all over my nice clean carpets!! >:( I could pop up into the attic to see if the seal has gone couldn't I? It does happen more when its raining but with condensation it has to be cold and warm inside .I don't know what I am talking about and look like a right thicky!! I will just call someone 2moro!!

Ah right ,I presumed you had a wall extractor ,if it is in the attic your probably safer getting someone to check it out properly then :)

Yep is a ceiling fan! off to clear a pathway in attic and to find a phone book :(

Make sure you turn the power off ,then check it out yourself if you feel confident enough :-/
It's a fairly easy job you know to take the cover off and have a look to see if it is bloked in any way,but first check the attic and make sure no water is getting in anywhere around the outlet of the fan(where the vent is outside)if there are no obvious signs of water coming in the back(attic) of the extractor and it isn't blocked .then the only answer can be condensation :-/
