So who was misleading the OP, MarkyMarkD, to suggest they should consider
sending it by parcel courier to the UK (probably cheapest)

Not a lot of help (possibly even misleading  ) as they are returning to Ireland, as Jammin so helpfully points out.

But well done you, for giving the only relevant answer.
I would like to, at this point, apologise unreservedly to the OP for misleading her. I do hope that pointing her to a thread that obviously had nothing at all to do with her question did not cause undue stress and inconvenience.

I guess, MarkyMarkD, that you do the job so well, nobody else should bother posting on any threads ever again.

You two really are having a love-fest, aren't you?

The OP was flying "tonight" to Ireland (that's last Thursday) and returning to the UK with the buggy on Sunday. You are both reading the original post wrongly. If you want to point out the errors of others, it helps if you are actually correct.

An extra piece of luggage on Ryanair will not cost £8. Assuming that the OP was already using their luggage allowance, it would cost £8 plus EUR15 per kg - or around £150 for a 15kg pushchair. That's not an economic way to transport a pushchair. If the OP happened to be travelling with only one suitcase, weighing only 15kg, between the two of them, then they would indeed be able to do it for £8 but that seems somewhat unlikely. I may be wrong.

No need for rolling of the eyes. If we lost the contributions of yourself and jammin on this thread, I don't think a lot of value would have gone out of the window. :P

  • Hello all,

Seems I started some arguements with my query:confused:

I'd thought i'd update re buggy:

I called ryanair on thursday and the advisor informed me that as I hadnt booked it on the original booking, I would need to pay it as excess baggage-which would end up costing me £30 to book it on-and then £12 per extra kilo-so would cost approx £150:eek:
She recommended I courier it-as it was very expensive to pay for one way.
I informed my friend of this-and we have decided that I will leave the buggy at hers until Christmas when we will be home (should only be without it 3weeks or so), and we intend to move back to Ireland at Christmas so all should be ok (well thats the plan for now!! )

Thanks all, for taking the time to reply though xx
