house sale ,250k,where to invest

have recently sold house and have 250k to invest short term(6-12months), does anybody have any sensible ideas apart from egg and b&b, many thanks

It would be foolish to invest for just 6 months. You would be much better to place it in a savings account.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). If you want risk, then potential a punt on the stock market for the next 6 months may be good :o0 -
IIWY, I wouldn't invest in anything risky. If you want a rock solid investment, with a possibility of a high return, why not put £30k into premium bonds? Or £60k with your partner? You could win the big one (£1m) and you'll still get all your money back (less a small amount of inflation).
