Halifax Loan - Courier With Cheque?
Comments
-
To add to the saga:
- Went to the branch today to try and sort loan out with them instead. Same amount borrowed over same period = 19.9% APR. Online loan rate = 9.7% APR.
- Decided that I am going to have to accept the online rate (obv) so called them up to rearrange courier. Have to wait until Wednesday for the courier due to them having to wait for the documents to come back to them i.e. the undelivered ones.
- I will then get a cheque from the courier on Wednesday, pay it in Thursday, and have to wait 3-5 working days for it to clear.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!0 -
my husband used to deliver those papers and chqs for City Link..he would drop them off and tell them he would comeback in half hour for it if that was ok...some folks even said "no come and sit down have cup of tea!!"..he got paid around 7.50 - £20 depending on how far travelledTO FINISH LAST, FIRST YOU HAVE TO FINISH....0
-
This delivery was rearranged for Tuesday this week.
Never turned up.
Call Halifax and it turned out this was because the documents never made it to the Courier department, but noone thought to inform me!!
I have now been on the phone to them again (and again) and this has been rearranged for tomorrow morning.
The nightmare continues................ :eek:0 -
Honestly I would have gone elsewhere by now?
I hope that you get some redress from them if you have lost out on wages etc if you have stayed in for nothing.0 -

What does redress mean?
I have not lost out on wages but it is simply a pain in the a$$.
The person I am buying the car from is getting a bit restless as you can understand.
I have looked at elsewhere but due to this Halifax application being in the pipeline / or "on the system" their rates are coming out quite high.
It seems like anyone working in a loan department that I have spoken to is a poorly educated school leaver so I am often banging my head against a brick wall.
Will wait and see what tomorrow brings :rolleyes:0 -
If you have stayed in all day when you could be doing paid work why should they not compensate you when it is their incompetence is to blame?0
-
I find the Halifax loan system quite funny; if I apply in a branch I'am successful; if I apply on-line I'am never successful; its like two different systems!0

Cheque turned up today.

I have had to pay £12 to clear the cheque quicker than normal (and it's still going to take until Tuesday at least). :undecided
Still I wait to feel the cold hard cash.......0 -
This is a complete waste of time! You do not have access to the money any quicker.Cheque turned up today.

I have to say here that if it was me then I would consider a complaint against Halifax or even write to the press!0 -
I don't think it calls for writing to the press does it?
I'll be very annoyed however if they do not repay the £50 courier fee and the £12 cheque fee!0
