Halifax Loan - Courier With Cheque?
                    Hi Guys,
I have applied for a Halifax loan and am apparently going to have a courier arrive with a cheque and some loan documents.
I am due to sign the documents if the small print is ok, and then the courier will give me a cheque. Sounds a bit odd but must be correct.
My question is how long will this cheque take to clear once I take it into my Halifax branch? Surely not 5 days as its a cheque from Halifax to Halifax?
Any replies much appreciated :money:
Thanks
Dave

Yes it will - can they not just arrange to credit your account once they have your signed documentation?0

When my ex got a loan with halifax they transferred the money same day into his aco!!!! although he did go into the bank to apply for the loan.Saving needed to emigrate to Oz*September 2015*
 £11,860.00 needed = £1,106 in savings

 Is this "yes it'll take 5 days?"0

I wish i couldve done the same but because the online service already processed my application, the bank could only quote me at 22% APR. In hindsight I would have just gone into the branch and done it there. It has been a faff from start to finish.0

That is correct. If you pay more and ask for a CHAPS payment it will be cleared same day - but again why they simply can't credit your account is beyond me.Is this "yes it'll take 5 days?"
Do you have to have a courier service? - blooming site easier just to pop down to the branch IMO.0

Bet they'll charge you a 'courier fee' too. Can you call them up and ask them to just post you the application? Do you really need the money that quickly?0

I need the money as I am going to be working pretty full on from next week so want to pick a car up at the weekend.
They charge £50 courier fee which obviously isn't great but I was told on the phone that branches can cash the cheque same day. If this is not the case (as I have been told by a mate hence the post on here) I'll be naffed off!
I wish they couldve just got rid of their application and I couldve done it in the branch but apparently it isnt a quick process.
 NIGHTMARE! :mad:0

I got screwed by this service, nearly, that I didn't even ask for.
On the phone they simply said thats what would happen, I didn't know it was £50! Fella turned up signed the stuff and sent it back, 3 days later money was sent to my account (I didn't ask for a cheque and they didn't offer one). Anyway I complained about not being informed of the fee and they refunded it to me (they did say they would check their phone records, but nothing came of that)!
The second loan I took with them I got the documents the day after I applied and the funds were in 4 days after I posted the letter back! Not worth £50 anyway if you asked me!0

Jackpot! The courier never turned up last night. Called but the courier dept closes at 8pm.
Called today with no explaination but said they can rearrange for tomorrow.
I have told them to cancel the whole thing and I will go elsewhere.
Will I now have a worsened Credit Score because of this loan application and if so what can I do to sort it out as it's not my fault.
All I want is a loan, get funds, and collect my new car.....its becoming so frustrating!!

As they didn't turn up, get it rearranged for tomorrow, but tell them you want it free for the inconvenience. They will do it.Jackpot! The courier never turned up last night. Called but the courier dept closes at 8pm.
