Trouble tranferring a domain to new host

Options
Hi all,

I've bought a hosting package with 1&1, and am having trouble transferring my .com domain to them. The old host was pretty unreliable hence the transfer, and 1&1 now want an extra £8 per month 'registration fees' off me, despite them being the registrars in the first place (site was bought off them last year). They say they can't move my site over, and I need to contact my old host - I can't, which is why I'm moving. At no point during the sign-up process did they ask for the details of the site.

The call centre staff were rude and very unhelpful, and no-one seems to be able to get back to me in plain, understandable English.

Can anyone help me out? My e-commerce site is ready to go after 6 months of hard work, and I've stuck on the last hurdle!!
This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

Current Pay Off Target : £1500
