MBNA harassment

in Credit cards
I am currently unemployed working just part time at the moment whilst I am looking for full time work.
All of my other creditors have been helpful apart from MBNA.
I suffer from bipolar disorder and they have caused me undue stress by first asking me to make payments I cannot afford, effectively bullying me to paying money I can hardly afford to help clear any arrears which I am trying to pay off by token payment.
I went through an income and expenditure form with them and yet they are insistent on me paying the minimum payment when I just receive £190 a month in benefits and have other payments I need to make to other creditors.
I am upset that I am trying my hardest to make at least a £10 a month payment but it does not seem to be acceptable.
How should I approach MBNA in the future? Are they right to keep harassing me with phone calls and postcards informing me that they want to speak to me about my account when I have told them countless times of my personal situation?

MBNA are trying to get back their money that you spent. As soon as you make a sensible offer, with Income/Expenditure or an SoA they will probably leave you alone.
Your bipolar is nothing to do with the issue. Reading through the forums, and most banks will "hassle" everyone until they find a solution.0 -
It may be worth approaching Citizens Advice to act as an intermediary on this matter. Have you told MBNA of the full circumstances of your current situation in writing? The trouble with phone calls, is you do not see what somebody has written on your file, whereas a letter stating what you can pay and the frequency of this payment, as well as you current income details, will now be on file.
Did you bipolar disorder contribute to your current employment situation? If so, support from your GP, possibly written, could help your letter.
I hope this is helpful. Good luck with your job search.Debt September 2020 BIG FAT ZERO!
Now mortgage free, sort of retired, reducing and reusing and putting money away for grandchildren...0
