Hi
Is the Barclays bank account in credit each month? If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Yes it always gos into credit for about 5 days then back to overdraft then over overdraft then charges. Same story every month but due to the charges I,m spending even less time in credit and more over my overdraft which they always allow but charge 100 a month on average for
I can not see a way of getting out of this unless they will put the account on hold for me, but don't know how to even request this. I also pay 14 a month to have this account0 -
great
Ring Alliance and Leicester otr have a look at their web-site. They were offering free overdrafts to new customers - matching there exisitng OD, provided they are in credit for at least 3 days per month. It is only for one year though.
Don't ask, don't get.
if they will let you do it it would make a huge difference to your budgetting. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
OK action taken so far canceled all DDs out of Barclay's asked child benefit to change to a and l account. Totaled all fees on Barclay's account 1095 since October:eek: . Sent letter asking for money back under hardship grounds and putting account in dispute hopefully stopping all further charges.
Phoned A and L about poss overdraft they said if I send them a bank statement showing my overdraft facility they will match it. Bit reluctant to do that as they will see how overdrawn I am then and don't think that will help.
Totaled all charges on barclaycard 520 in 6 six years letter prepared but not sent yet. Told OH about overdrawn mess played it down a little but he was OK.
Feeling much more positive now good luck everyone0 -
Try moving to Talk Talk through quidco - get £40 - and in our case our bill was cut from £28 plus £19 to £17 for the lot! Much better than the £35 you are currently paying. It all helps....
Good luck, glad you were able to talk to OH. My OH and I share all our financial info - we even open each others bills - there is no hiding things under carpet there. But as you can see from my sig - we still got in a bit of a mess altho luckily we still can get good deals - now I am just trying to pay off quicker!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
