hi
i was wondering who had what account and if any of you only pay your salary into a student account whilst have another student account which your loan goes into. also does anyone have more then one account and if so what are they and do you put your overdrafts into a savings account? im currently with barclays for my student account but figure if i can get another one to put my salary into might as well and use the overdraft too.
thanks

I have 2 student bank accounts, one with HSBC and one with NatWest, I use them for keeping different monies separate. The banks don't like you doing this and that’s why when you apply there is a question that asks if you have any other bank accounts and whether any of them are student bank accounts. The reason being if you say that you have another student account they will automatically deny your application because they want your exclusively with their benefits. You can get around this by telling them that you have another bank account and who it is with; just don’t tell them that it's a student account. Then as long as you can provide the necessary documentation they should allow you to open the account. As to which one you choose it's up to you, although you can refer to this article on the main site http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/banking/Student-bank-account. Hope this helps"This 'telephone' has too many shortcomings to be seriously considered as a means of communication. The device is inherently of no value to us."
