Probably been asked a million times but i seem to be going round in circles so i thought i would ask you very smart people for some help (pretty please) :o

So my sister has a computer in her bedroom connected to tesco broadband running windows xp now she recently bought a laptop which runs vista at the moment it's still in the box as she ain't 100% sure  how to connect both the laptop and the desktop up to the internet.

I'm guessing she will need a router for this a ADSL so which router works for both XP and vista.

Sorry if it's a really dumb question :p

well almost every router will work with xp and vista because it do's not us drivers like the modem she has now ,it uses a web browser type page to in put the details ,user name and pasword ect for your broadband.
you norrmally have one wired to the router, like desktop and the lappy wireless put you can have both wireless if you want
the best ones are netgear (some do not like them )d-link ,linksy and belkin put remember to get one for adsl if you us a BT phone line/landline not a cable one (dsl)
there or their, one day i might us the right one ,until then tuff

The router does not care what OS (vista, XP, MAC or linux) the computer are using. Just as long as it's an "ADSL MODEM" router.

All they need to do is make sure the computers connect to the router, if it's using a network cable than things should be fine. If it's wireless then depending on the type and make of router you'll have to put in a password to connect (you should just need to do this once).
