advice please re recorded delivery

I recently posted a couple of cashback claims for mobile phone contracts and as usual I paid the extra to send recorded so it would be signed for and I'd be able to show that they'd received it and when.
One of the claims however seems to have gone AWOL - posted 2/8 and still in the system somewhere!
I'm going to get another copy of the claim sent off quicksharp in the morning, if its too late though and I don't get my cashback payment do I have any comeback on the Post Office?
Value of cashback if its relevant is £84.
many thanks for any advice
cheers, Rob

No you have no comeback via the PO as recorded does not cover anything other than tangible goods under £36 it is just standard post.
For important documents you would have needed to use special delivery and paid extra for the consequential loss (sorry, I can't think of the right phrase, that is NOT it!) .
Recorded is not worth the extra 72p due to the fact that it is getting less and less likely to be signed for, the phone companies are particularly bad for this as can be seen from the various threads on the mobile phone board). It possibly has arrived but if the cashback company get difficult you can't prove it.
AS for Royal mail you can get a book of 1st class stamps in compensation for the lack of signature and can get a standard claim form from the PO.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. No, you're correct that is what it's called. Would've cost an extra £1.45 on top of special delivery:

I sent 2 recorded delivery letters 1st class on the 21st and 23rd of this month, from different post offices, neither have been signed for - mainly I suspect because they don't appear to have been delivered.
When I asked RM what the chances are of losing a letter I was told less that 1% so it looks like I've got around a 1 in 10,000 chance of both of them going missing!
Ironically on their website they claim:
"If you have an important item to deliver, our Recorded Signed For™ service gives you complete peace of mind with proof of posting and an electronic copy of the signature available online."You can't go wrong with carpet bombing...0
