As far as gambling is concerned i have spoke to GA and not had a bet now for 10 days. My problem however was online not down the bookies online casino, poker and betfair took my money. These accounts have all been closed and when ever i go online i am on WIFE WATCH so its no longer a problem (God willing for ever)

Its a long road but its my own fault so lets start walking

Unfortuantly ur wife will not understand 100% ever what its like to be a compulsive gambler unless she becomes one and Wife Watch will become more lax and eventually non existant. I would personally urge you to goto GA and attend reguarly. Also goto

    https://www.gamblock.com

its a site that puts a file on the computer which means that when u go onto a gambling site or any site that has gambling on it it will shut the window down or tell u to leave it otherwise ur computer will shut down (and it does) also once u download the file if u try and remove it it will corrupt the computer. (done as a prevention from gamblers taking it of). It costs bout £20

i also called GA and didnt feel comfortable talking to them my OH still doesnt know how much ive lost and to be honest why should i off load that on him to relieve my guilt he doesnt deserve that but he is supporting me.

Try giving GA another go, everyone has been in ur position remember and if theres a gamanon near suggest ur partner goes and if there isn't take him to ur meeting.

The other thing is you may as well be hung for a sheep as a lamb or whatever the saying is. Your hubby knows you have an illness yet for some reason u ahvn't told him everything, so what happens when say u do stay of gambling for a time and then all of a sudden a debt pops out that u failed to tell him about. This means that all ur effort and trust is lost automatically and ur at square one again as he thinks ur at it again. If hes gonna leave u he will leave u but more than likely he will already have done it by now. i hope u understand what i am on about and whats probably best is that u get what i said confirmed at a meeting!!!

if u want to pm me feel free

message to self YOU ARE A BLOODY IDIOT
  • their closed for now mate but what happens when u get urges which u will, u may be strong now but the whole idea of stopping urself gambling is to put barriers up for when u become weak to make it alot lot harder to gamble, Hence why that program https://www.gamblock.com (i'm not associated btw) and gamcare and gamblers anonymous

I think it will depend on what incentive you had on the contract (eg a nice new snazzy phone or cashback by reclaiming) - speak to your phone company and ask them what options are available - they may let you see out the remainder of the contract on a cheaper plan with less minutes etc.
  • Will talk to o2 but dont hold out much hope got a new phone extra mins and texts with a 18 month contract.

On the positive side wife is talking to me again and i still havnt had a bet !!
