Okay... now i'm worried.
What's all this talk of hats 'n' stuff?
Not had access to a computer at home for a while as mum has had a small op on her back - she's fine, but lots of bruising. Dad's sleeping in my computer room so he doesn't disturb her (and so he can get some sleep). He'll be having a hip op at the end of next month so will probably be offline for a while then too.
Had a chat with boss at work to see if we can sort out a less stressful way of working. I know alot of it is to do with my approach to work - if there's a little thing that will only take a couple of minutes to do, i will just drop what i'm doing and work on it there and then. I need to be more structured in my approach, but i think i will also need to 'escape' a little more for when i need to do some serious concentrating without distractions.
Not really sure how this will impact my current stress though so will see what doctor thinks next week. I think i have some anxiety as well that i hadn't really associated with stress. Stopped to talk to a charity guy in the street and while he started on his spiel, i started feeling very hot, then dizzy, stomach started to tighten, then chest; Breathing was shallow and quicker so i focussed on that and then started to concentrate on calming down. Hadn't realised before, but when i had been called in to some meetings, that's the kind of thing i felt although this was more pronounced. Not sure if you could call this an anxiety attack but will need to ask Doc about it.
If i think of stress in terms of debt, i'm not sure if i am just reshuffling it rather than dealing with the problem. I don't really know what to do to reduce or get rid of stress so i think i'll make a list of questions for visit to doc.
I've decided that i shouldn't be working at home until i am more grounded and sure i won't be making things worse. Boss actually asked if i could do more work at home so that i wouldn't be stressed at work. Not sure if he was actually kidding or not, but at least we had a proper sitdown talk and went over what we may be able to do to improve things. He was still asking about deadlines and timeframes for different things though but i can't really give him an answer as alot of it is stuff i've never done before.
So at least i know know why my memory was getting worse and the occasional dizzy spell. Stomach is pretty much under control thans to the meds i'm on. Still feel a bit grotty sometimes, but alot better than i was.
Moneywise, my cunning plan fell flat on it's face.
I have some money saved up now i'm not paying off any cards and thought i may be able to do a money transfer for an early repayment on the loan. Crunched the numbers and got the settlement figure from the bank. Due to the 4% interest an money transfer would cost, i would actually be £4.60 worse off if i went for the early settlement. Looks like the bank loan will be finished at the end of April next year and after paying my dad i could have about 4k saved up by then. Possibly a little more if i get a payrise in May, but i doubt that as i still haven't finished the coding and will appear to be 'struggling' with my work.
Just got the forms through to fill in my appraisal, so we'll see how that goes.
I think that's about if from me. I know i had said i probably wouldn't be posting here much, but it was intended as a little tongue in cheek. Not having access to a computer at home is ... stressful. Isn't it???After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

Petal i hope you are still here. I just woke up after 5 hours of sleep no work done but dead happy to see you, will read your email in a mo. Am stressed by dearest papa.
I hope your mum and dad are ok and you too.
Well done on recognising what it was. Maybe you have had lots of panic attacks and not realised what they were. Now you are doing something constructive about it.
Do not get stressed by work appraisal (pot calling kettle black, another case of do as I say and not as I do). When you are filling in the appraisal say that the timing of the tasks does not allow for deadlines to be met effectively or for the project to be successful suggest solutions, two solid weeks of project work and they get you an assistant/a temp for the basic duties by offering solutions you are solving any problems and making them more money. They will make a fortune out of your efforts for them and they should jolly well invest in you. You haven't done anything wrong at all and certainly dont blame yourself. I dont know many people that stay up all night to do work so dont you put yourself down. Err you are not struggling, well no more than anyone else doing the same task would be, innovators are people who go above and beyond the call of duty to make sure ideas other people couldn't think of are turned into reality. I would like to see your boss do this. Why didn't the powers that be give this task to him? You are the guy to get it done that's why. Dont you put yourself down Our Porge we all think you are fab. As i said previously if anyone has a go i am happy to chop their nuts off ok. You can do no wrong so there.
And another thing, you have done so well to have managed the gambling and even better to have nearly paid it all off. Do not beat yourself up about banks and things making it hard to pay it off early. It is not allowed you are George UK and my hero so there. If anyone is going to have a shouty it is me, and i am sorry you are amazing and dont need shouting at at all.
I was trying to encourage everyone to wear hats. Steve wanted to marry anyone that could iron he proposed to 3 different people in one night. I hoped it was your lucky day and that you could iron and we could all wear daft hats to the wedding but noone was interested apart from me and Bobski (probably out of politeness, why do i always feel like i am a care in the community patient, all the people on your thread are so sane it is a bit intimidating).
Are you resting? exercising? looking at the weather? I hope so and trying to have fun? Stay happy and be focussed on you ok. am reading your email now.
ps why dont you have a kilt?
