I'm very confused with all the benefits & if i am entitled to any help.
does anyone know if i can get any, i am on maternity leave & due to go back work soon, i can only go back part time as i can't afford childcare so will be doing about 15 hours.
i live with my partner who is starting out with his business (extremley hard with the credit crunch) & is not bringing home a wage at all yet, he will be working prob part time to cover the hours im working to look after our son.
we get some help from child tax credits but not enough to live on.
is there anything else we can get until te business does better?
any help is gratefully received:o

If your husband is working sixteen hours or more, then you will need to claim Working Tax Credits. If he is working less than this (including his self employed work), you will need to claim Income Support.
I assume that you are already receiving Child Benefit and Child Tax Credits?
Depending on your income, it may also be possible to claim Local Housing Allowance and Council Tax Benefit.Gone ... or have I?0 -
You should be able to get working tax credits, child tax credit and of course child benefit BUT you may also be able to get your child care paid for too.
Have you tried calling the inland revenue? they can point you in the right direction and tell you what you can and cant get.
