My butterfinger daughter and law spilled a bottle of water on our Passat car seat and than left it in the sun as she shopped. Now it's dry but there are white circular marks all over the seat.

Anyone knows how to remove this? we tried with soapy water but no results.

    Hi Avantra,

As your thread has dropped off the front page of Old Style I've moved it over to the motoring board to see if you can get more replies.

the same thing happened to my old passat and no matter what i done it eventually came back ,if i was you wait until you want to sell it and then clean it with a cheap steam cleaner (about £15 from woolies) it will disappear for a couple of weeks ,thats what i did anyway

    Hi,

Autoglym (available at Halfords and other accessory shops) make a couple of interior car cleaners which may remove it. They do a new one with an applicator pad which removed a watermark from my rear seat.

  • I would imagine either the water was not pure, or the seat was dirty and the water has removed some of the dirt.

Steam cleaner is your best bet, unless the covers are removable (check the underside to see if they are).

Clean the rest of the seat, the patch is caused by cleaning a spot section the edges become noticable. you need to do the whole seat to sort it out.

I agree with the above it is just the dirt in the seat moving to the edges of the spill. Give it a complete scrub and hopefully that will sort it. If not you might want to get it valeted at some stage if it still annoys you.
