How much did you pay for your Wii?

Options
Remember all the hype before Christmas about the Wii? Ridiuclous prices on eBay and desperation for them in shops ?

Well, if you did buy one, how much did you pay??

I got mine in July 2007 before the big hype for just £179.99 plus an extra game and accesories pack, and of course Wii Sports.

How about you?

Hmmm see I got mine for the RRP but I have seen them in places like Game for £200 bundled with just one extra game.

And on eBay - I was amazed! Up to £250 I saw one go for!!

RRP for Wii, and then got Wii Fit for £64.99 + £5P&P from HMV, although it was 4 days late, so got Refunded on P+P and sold it as we bought one from Tesco on release day for £64.

I really doubt the poor sods who paid £300+ (couple days before christmas!) for one on ebay will post here. I just paid the regular £179, but I got wii fit on release day from ebay for £50, collected in person. Someone bought aload of them to sell hoping to make a profit.

i bet you could get 1 cheaper than that from websites like game, play

i paid the RRP for mine last year, but then i got an extra nunchuck and resident evil but not sure how m uch it came too
  • I was very lucky, in January 2007 I went to Munich and the Electrical Store i went in to had a million of them and I felt it would be rude not to. Once conversion (the euro was much weaker then) from my credit card were taken in to account I got it for £157.

I got Wii Fit from Tesco from 54.97, I left it late to pre-order after Play.com cancelled my pre-order the week before it was released but it arrived on the day.

I can understand why people were prepared to pay as much on Ebay and I agree with other posters that they aren't likely to post here how much they spent but it has been the same with all other technology (IPhone, XBox etc).

Sorry people but not really quite sure why talking about prices of the wii is in the Tech thread.

Does technology not include gaming consoles.... where would be a more appropriate place to put the posts? Can I change the location?
