We've been phoned a number of times over the past few weeks by the above telephone number. Having googled the number it seems that it's MORI wanting to do a survey (?) but as we're ex-directory and also registered with the TPS (have been for some years now) we're a bit curious as to how they got our number
Has anyone else had calls from them?

TPS won't stop MORI - they're not selling anything.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

Fair enough, and I think a lot of companies do get round the TPS thing by saying they're not selling, but what about us being ex-directory? I'm just wondering how they got our number.0

I honestly have no idea what they do, Heinz.. (hence my question!) but am curious to know. Yes, obviously they wouldn't be thumbing thru paper directories!
I would have been interested to know if anyone else had received calls from them. Anyway, no matter. I've barred the number now so it shouldn't happen again..0 -
I just got a call from that number 01313012940; they claimed to be from the NHS asking about if we had teenagers living here. Wife told them to go away. We are also ex-directory and TPS registered. I presume they got the number from the GP or the Hospital. There is no escape unless you do away with the phone altogether. They are vermin, all of them.0

what a load of paranoid nonsense
Ipsos Mori carries out some work contracted to the government, but it is nevertheless an independent company
They random dial numbers rather than using prescribed databases, and that's why some calls will be to numbers that are subscribed to TPS.0 -

if your mate works there, you should know better than to post this drivel making false allegations that the government is breaking the Data Protection Act, or that Mori might be deliberately targetting known persons rather than random samples on its behalf0 -
