For the past 3 or 4 days I 've been getting persistent dropped connections and really slow connections with my ISP, Tiscali.
Their website says that currently they have a 100% service???? I've checked the network settings at my end and there are no problems. I've also done full virus and spyware scans just in case - but both reported no problems.
Are any other Tiscali users currently experiencing problems connecting to the internet?
TIA

Not really a help but mine is spot on. Are you on Tiscalli LLU?The only way of finding the limits of the possible is by going beyond them into the impossible.

I don't know if Tiscali have LLU'd me - how would I find out?
I've been with Tiscali for years and never had a problem before this, which I'm hoping will turn out to be just a temporary glitch.
My connection speed is usually around 4mbps, which is fine for me.0 -

LLU = Local Loop Unbundling. i.e. where Tiscali take over the "local loop" bewteen your house and your exchange. Previously BT had a monopoly on this. You have LLU if you get your phone calls through Tiscali and don't pay line rental to BT.
Well, I'm not on a LLU connection, and my Tiscali internet connection has been fine. Not always the fastest, but okay.
I know of a number of people that have had problems with the rubbish free "modem" which ISPs often provide. Are you using one, jamborino? If so, are you able to swap it for another one or try connecting via a router?0 -
I am with Tiscali and had problems all day last Sunday. Yet their web status said all 100% OK but that is common with some ISP's.A retired senior partner, in own agency, with 40 years experience in property sales & new build.
