Handle has broken off our fairly expensive stainless steel teapot, the weld gave way,does anybody know who will do such welding or what should i look for in yellowpages re the same.North Yorks/Durham area.

I had a similar problem with a silver plated milk jug. The spout broke off. I took it to a local jeweller who soldered it back on. However, despite not using my silver tea service very often, the spout broke off again. I again got it repaired. When it broke off a 3rd time, I threw the jug out.
You might be better taking it to a blacksmiths who will have equipment to provide a long-lasting repair.
