Hi,
i've just started at uni and was wondering if there is a free NUS card anymore? i had one when i was at college but now it seems like its £16 for one.

No, I don't think there is any more, I think you have to buy the card. Don't know if it's any use but when I was at uni (I left last year) our official student cards from the uni had the NUS logo on them and a lot of places would accept this as 'NUS'. They've probably tightened up on it now but it might be worth a go before you shell out for the proper one.0

Open a student account with Lloyds TSB and you'll get one free.
If not, I'd suggest you take a look at the website:
http://www.nus.org.uk/NUS-Extra/
and if you think you'll end up saving more than £10 (the cost of a card) in discounts, then go ahead and buy one.
I personally found it really helpful, I even bought items for my family so that we could get the discounts. But some people may not find it so helpful unless they shop in the discounted stores a lot, so check it out!This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
