Salton Ltd (Russell Hobbs)

We bought a "You are what you eat" Hand Blender by Russell Hobbs from Sainsburys a few months ago. Unfortunately, it wouldn't work after using it twice and we hunted high and low for the receipt to take it back to Sainsburys but couldn't find it. For the first time in our lives just about, we had also thrown the box away so we were stuck. Sainsburys (bless 'em) said if we didn't get anywhere with Salton, we could come back to them but were very reluctant. TBH, they have been brilliant before with things, even if you haven't got the box, but you do have to have a receipt, obviously!

Anyway, without much hope, I packed up the blender stick and sent it back to Salton. After a few days, I had virtually given up hearing from them but today, voila! a brand new boxed blender (with all the bits and we still have all the bits from the other one) has arrived, sent with their compliments! The form attached just says free of charge. I think they are wonderful. Its amazing how low your expectations are with something like this, but they could certainly not have done better, don't you think? I have emailed them to thank them, of course, but I think this tale should be told further afield.

Isn't it always the way? Having posted the above thread, OH went in the loft the other day looking for something and lo and behold, guess what he found? Only the box from the original blender so we could have taken it back to Sainsburys anyway! Anyway, I still think it was customer service above and beyond and should be celebrated.
