Hadn't thought of the dvd spindles, I know there is at least 2 smaller ones upstairs in the office so will have a fiddle tonight and see if I can make them look good. Thanks for the idea.
Not sure about balloons, I am still to find some black and dark blue balloons but everywhere just sells bags of coloured ones!

Card Warehouse sell Silver Balloons they would go with the theme, they might have black ones too  Also sell silver star confettie.

What do you plan to do with it now? put it away for another year??

I didn't get a choice Rusty, she returned all my trays dishes and cloths(I did the food for her too) I asked her about the stand and she said she's keeping it as a memento. LOL

Had a little brain wave! :D

What about a baby milk tin/slimfast tin?

Failing that big tins of soup!?

    Can't wait to see it!

Ooooh I am once again all excited. I wrapped it up in the honeycomb mesh I got and it looks really brilliant. OH is going to kill me for unwrapping the tins in the cupboard but its very MSE. I used smaller tins (mushy peas and chilli beans) for the top layer and second layer then used normal sized tins (soup tins and beans) for the base layer!

I need to pull all of the silver ribbon off and put it back on so the overhang is on the bottom. OH says it looks daft :( that will be for later on as I have to go out in a little while.

Hmmm you aren't supposed to notice them. My daughter was being a madam and I was so excited to start it off that I forgot to move her dinner which she refused :rotfl::rotfl:

I have no star wars figures (can't really buy any as he is having star wars stuff for christmas) However I am wanting to print some characters off the net and put them on little sticks to stick in the top so that it looks good ... or at least hopefully looks good. Then try and decorate it with ribbon (probably curling ribbon?)

You are far from rubbish, some fantastic ideas there thankyou.

My daughter is two and refuses to eat her dinner at the moment  so there are always random sandwiches lying about after lunch here because I just KNOW she will sneaky one off the table and eat it!!

PLEASE post a pic of the cake when you have done it. I am excited just seeing your bases they look SO good :)

Have you got your son a jedi dressing up outfit? He could wear it to his party and have hours of fun chopping all his friends up BZZZZZZZZZZZIIAAOOWW

I love the DVD spindles idea, that is EXCELLENT.

I don't know what happened but I didn't see all those posts after yours! OOPs!

I CAN'T believe your OH said that  I HONESTLY promise that I was so impressed with it I showed my Star Wars obsessed OH last night and he said it was "awesome, she must be a lovely mom". I have just seen the pics of the tins (what a GENIUS idea) and Honestly, it looks like the corridor of an imperial ship now. It's just fantastic!!

I haven't no ... he has asked for a storm trooper outfit from the argos catalogue so I am thinking of getting that as his last present. then if he wanted to he can wear it to his party. He isn't a big dressing up fan so thought it may be a waste however they are only young once and he is more than worth it.
