Would you post item to gift address?

Buyer wants shipment to his gift address which is given in the paypal note. The buyer is verified paypal user with confirmed address. The item costs about 220pounds. Do you think I should post item to this gift address. Or what should I do? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
If it seems to good to be true, it probably is.

nope, tell the buyer to add the address in their (confirmed?) paypal account0

I would email them and say you can only send to the confirmed address. If they have a problem with that, they should let you know and you can refund, and they can sort it out properly and pay again. My TV is broken!

Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
I orderd a hooded hairdrier for my mom, she's in Birmingham, I'm in Stoke on Trent. I asked the seller if they would send to my mom's address but they posted it to me. Left me with a problem of paying extra postage to send it to Brum.
Could they give you a landline number to phone them on?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

Not sure what phoning would achieve here?
It is easy enough to add a gift address to a paypal account and it is automatically confirmed. Regardless of how nice the buyer is the selller will not have protection unless item is sent to a confirmed address and for £200 it would not be a risk I would be willing to take.
Personally I am usually happy to ship to gift address where item is cheap enough as I don't use tracking under £36 anyway, but £200 is way out of my comfort league.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. This is how the majority of fraud is done. And you wont be covered by paypal. As if you ever where in the first place0

You could always ask the buyer how they funded their PayPal payment.
If they didn't pay by credit card, then there's not much point making them jump through hoops to confirm the address.0 -
Buyer requested refund and I issued. However, he never re-sent payment using another paypal account with confirmed gift address. Later the gift receiver(holder of another paypal account) sent payment directly with unconfirmed address. Then I re-issued full refund and said I cant send item to unconfirmed address and told her to resend payment with confirmed address. However, never received any response from these two buyers.
I dont know if they are potential mobile scammers, but in my list I clearly stated that I would only send item to confirmed paypal address. I think at least they are not serious buyers, really so annoying.
The following is some of their original messages and my notes. Of course the whole conversation took long time.
bidder:
hi there i was wanting to buy this phone as a gift for my girlfriend but i wanting to know if you could send it directly to her address instead of mine as i'm staying there till next week i would be grateful if you could this for me
I agreed if this gift address was confirmed.
hi, i just clicked to buy your phone and now i'm having problems getting into my paypal
i can't contact them till the morning as the customer helpline is closed
However, in the payment the gift address was given in the note, not added in his paypal account. I asked how he would proceed.
i just went into my paypal just to check and the the other address is my gift address and registered on my paypal the other way i can do it is if you refund the money back into my account i'll put it in Karen's(gift receiver) account and pay for it through her account then you can send it straight to her confirmed address.
I issued full refund, never received any payment with confirmed gift address, but from gift receiver.
gift receiver:
hi there have you relisted your item if so can you send me the list number
I told her that it was not necessary to relist this item. However, she chose to send payment directly using paypal with unconfirmed address.
i'm still trying to log into my paypal account but it's taking ages just to get into it i'll let you know as soon as i do
that's the payment for the phone now gone through
i had to go onto someone else's pc as i think the problem wos at my end
can you let me know if you've got it ok
Payment reveived, but address was unconfirmed.
hi i should'nt be unconfirmed because i was on the phone to paypal earlier today setting up mobile transactions on my mobile and i had to confirm my address and other information with them to set it up when i sign into my paypal it says i'm verified and my primary home address comfirmed
Then I re-issued full refund and was looking forword to the payment, but no response.

It isn't difficult to add an additional address to a Paypal account and I always tell customers this if they request sending to a different address. Unfortunately you can't change the address after payment received so the only way is to refund and for them to send it again.
If the parcel gets lost then it is harder to claim money back for all parties concerned if you have sent to a different address to the one invoiced.
It is just as foolish for a buyer to ask as it is for a seller to send to a non Paypal/Ebay address, both buyer and seller protection is void..0
