Please can somebody advise a total girl how to plumb in a washing machine
The lady in the shop said that I just remove the old one and put the cold water bit onto the new cold water thing but there is a hot water pipe on my old washer and I cant work out how to stop the water coming out  the new washer is cold fill only
Will I have to call a plumber out to stop the hot water pipe somehow
thanks for any help

the two copper supply pipes should have a valve on each one to shut them off.
just shut off the hot one and remove the old flexible pipe.
if there is no valve you will need a valve or a 15mm stopend compression fitting. get one from any plumbing store ie BQ/wickes.
2 spanners to fit. simple job.Get some gorm.0 -

Follow the hose to where it fitsa the copper water pipe, there should be a tap with a red lever on, just turn it off. keep some old rags beside for any spills.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.
