Having just applied for a current account with A+L im v dissapointed to find that in order to talk to anyone i have to phone an 0844 number and hold for ages, most of the staff seem indifferent/incompetent and if you use an alternative number to phone they hang up,also if you request a call back as i did today-they give two rings and then hang up-i suppose this is how they are making their money then-ive used the switching service and its just one balls up after another, plus all the while im spending ££'s on phonecalls to their 6p an minute tarrif-i was on hold for 24mins the other day-just to activate my card!!! Anybody else had this probelm?? its making me think seriously about pulling the plug on the whole thing-after ive got my £100 of course!!!

I shouldn't really mention this but their 24 hour freephone number is 0800 0688638 [option 2 - 'current accounts']...........under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0

Thanks-already tried that one,it asks you for your account and online/telephone pin-which i entered and it i get a recorded message telling me that the service is unavailable and would i like to speak to the security team, any ideas?0

Had the same problem yesterday (found number on saynoto0870), so not just you - just go through to the security team (which is no different to customer services), answer a few security questions and then you can do whatever you need to do!

I've not been impressed with their lax attitude towards customer account security.0

How else are they meant to get a proportion of the £100 back off you?
If not by this method then they'll surely have another way to do it.0 -

 45 mins @ 10p/min that my phone provider charges would have cost £4.50 !!!
Thanks to this site I ALWAYS check on http://www.saynoto0870.com/
for 0844 numbers. They also list alternatives for
0800, 0808, 0844, 0845, 0870 and 0871 numbers as well but I dont say no to any 0800 numbers I come across ;-)0 -
Has anyone got a real landline number I can ring them on? I only have a mobile so their 0844 number is useless to me, as are any 0800 and 0500 numbers as they don't come out of my free minutes. Can't find anything on saynoto0870 unfortunately...0
