that gas and electric is shocking! it can NOT be right (sorry i really dont think it can be). There is always somebody in our house and OH has a big computer system with 4 screens, always has his little mood lights on etc and the tv is on most of the day for DD, light at night in the bathroom on all night for DD etc etc and we only use at most £50 electric a month. Gas we use for cooking and heating and are currently using £10 - £15 a month. This is also on pre payment meters so costs more for the gas and electric than if we asked to be changed onto the normal package (the meters where here when we moved in), but i like the meters, it makes it easy to see whats going on. I think with a meter you should easily be saving £100 a month on gas and electric!
ditch the sky and go for freeview and you have another £50, half the food bill and another £200. While things are tight do you really need to buy new clothes each month? If so half it and find cheaper items than normal. Cut down on all unessential calls at home, get rid or reduce the mobile packages, if u cant until the contract is up, then make sure you get the most out of using all the free calls on mobile rather than the landline!
also how old is your youngest? If DH is at home all day could he not keep an eye on your youngest rather than paying childcare?0 -
Appeal again for DLA - explain fully what is wrong and ask the hospital and your GP for a report - maybe ask them to help fill in the necessary forms for DLA.
If you have anything that you do don't use or no longer wear flog them on ebay or go to a carboot.0 -

queen - have u been over to the old saver forums yet? They really will be able to hack your shopping bill down to £200 a month. Ok you might not be cooking the worlds most exciting stuff all the time and some prep will be required rather than just bunging in the oven. Also less snacks etc (im just guessing things normal people buy btw, not saying u fill ur trolly with junk food lol). That will ease the short fall by quite a big chunk.
Try not to worry, tweaking your figures can make it all work even though it doesnt seem it. All you need to do is to start taking steps and measures to reduce costs, then you will feel the weight start to lift off your shoulders0 -
Hi thanks, already cut down don't buy snacks or treats, but out shortfallis over £600 per month and don't where we are going to cut back any more0
