MacMillan Coffee Morning

Hi, I just wanted to let you know that the MacMillan Coffee Mornings will take place soon (ish).
I organised one last year which was held at my son's primary school. We raised lots of money and the local newspaper put a pic and stuff in about it.
I just want to encourage you to organise one or take part i one if you're able to.
I went to local supermarkets, and was amazed at their generosity. The ones i approached gave me at least £20 worth of stuff each. This included tea, coffee, biscuits, cake, napkins, tablecloths, disposable cutlery, squash, juice - in fact they provided everything that i needed to ensure that all the money we raised went straight to charity.
If anyone would like to PM me, i'll tell you exactly which supermarkets kindly donated. (Not sure if i should mention their names on here...?).
A local bakery even donated a huge tray of fresh cakes which i took straight to my husband's workplace and sold to his colleagues! :rotfl:

This is a really good cause, unfortunately I had cause to need the macmillan nurses myself a couple of years ago and they were absolutely brilliant so last year I ran my first coffee morning with a colleague at work. As everyone can get free coffee from our drinks machine we made a load of cakes - fairy cakes, muffins, flapjacks etc etc and sold them around the office. We also held a small raffle at the same time and managed to raise £750!
We've got another coffee morning and 'cake day' planned for 26th September so we're hoping to raise a bit more this time but I'm going to check out ChelseaGirl's suggestion of approaching local supermarkets for some free stuff, thanks for the tip!0
