London Transport Help

We are going to London for the weekend this Friday. Need to get from Liverpool Street to County Hall area. Return journey on Sunday. Friday afternoon/evening and Saturday will be travelling in central London.

What would be the cheapest way to get around on buses (can't use tube as son has mobility probs and can't risk the escalators). There will be two adults and two children 8 and 11.

Any help, tips gratefully received. And yes I know I've left it late but we've had lots to deal with the last couple of weeks and I forgot about travel plans until ten minutes ago!:o

A bus pass for the two adults will be £3.50 a day each. The 8 year old travels free.

The 11 year old travels free with a photocard - which alas you don't have time to get - so unless s/he can pass for 10 it's £3.50 as well.

With a PAYG Oyster card the cost is capped at £3 a day each - but you have to pay a deposit on the card and reclaim it when you leave.
  • Thanks for the help, it is very much appreciated. Looks like the 11 year old will be paying adult fare as they look nearer 15 than 10!!
