No point getting it in the UK then, afterall youre moving and I suspect
there could be different power supply voltage... 240v UK

$2.38630 Aussie dollars at the mo so you will get a better bargain out there

Have a look at this - I've got one like this and this is a very good deal.0 -
Ordered similar 2 weeks ago for mother in law to take on a cruise. Only apparent difference is that she got DVDRW drive. Price was £419 inc delivery and VAT once I had removed all their expensive support. Sales rep said that ther will be some great deals b4 christmas too (and no doubt after!) so might be worth hanging on if possible. To infinity and beyond!0

I ordered similar (probably the same as Mike) 2 weeks ago for sister-in-law to take to university, same requirements as yourselfm Web, Email, MSN, Word processing etc. She is very pleased with it, it's perfect for what she needs it for (and more mp3's, dvd's etc)
Also removed the support as Mike did....£419 seemd a good price for the spec to me.
So, yes, I would say this is fine for your requirements.0 -

Just be careful when it comes to the power supply, I bought my laptop in my homecountry, battery was working fine. when i got to the UK battery wouldn't work/charge. I have to now have the battery on permanent charge.
Not sure what the problem could be, only i am thinking that it has something to do with the strength of powersupply in diff countries

Thanks guys for all your replies. We think we might put the idea on hold & get one when we get out to Oz, that way we'll also have a warrenty on it
