How are people finding rental prices in North London? Going up or down?

Just wondered how people are finding the rental prices in North London? A couple of weeks ago I would have said they were definitely up but now there seem to be quite a few properties in the area we would like to live in (Muswell Hill) that are a reasonable price that we can afford that weren't available a few weeks ago.
When we were looking at properties we saw loads of new 'to let' signs also, far more than I have seen in a long time.
