At long last we are going to update our bathroom :j
DD2 & I are keen on the whirlpool style baths, but DH isn't. He says that the jets will be uncomfortable against his back & he will not be comfortable.
ALSO, we are in a very hard water area, would this cause problems?
If any one has any opinions, knows about them, uses them...... etc, I would love to hear your views, both good & bad.
Many thanks,
Love Suzi xxxx

There was a similar posting a couple of months ago .
Will only repeat what I posted then
Moved in to this house about six years ago and it had/has a whirlpool.
First time i used it , too much bubble bath, bubbles all over the floor:eek:
Novelty VERY soon wore off, and have not used it in years. Much prefer my really powerful ... power shower.
Even when the kids have a bath, they don't bother.
I live in Hertfordshire, very hard water, but not a problem.
Our Bath has only jets at the sides, so no problem on the back
( I always get the tap end !:rotfl:)0 -
I installed one for a friend about 5 years ago. The problem that I noticed was that some of the outlets were quite high up in the side of the bath and this meant that you had to have a large amount of water in the bath to get them below the surface. As the bath was a corner bath as well this added to the amount of water required. As I am now on a meter and saving a lot of money each year, it is not something that I would consider fitting for my own use. This bath had outlets at the sides and on the bottom, so no problem with the back.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
we've moved into a house that has a whirlpool and agree that you have to fill the bath quite high for it to work properly and that the novelty does wear off pretty quickly. With energy costs so high and the fact that the baths are so expensive it doesn't feature on my list of must haves.
Ours is going to end up on ebay I think.
If you do have one then make sure it's powerful because the one we have isn't!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

get a whirlpool bath with the jets fitted in the base only
the bathstore items are cheap and cheerful and ive replaced quite a few pumpsHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0 -
Yes the novelty soon wears off , the pipes can collect a nasty sludge and are breeding ground for bacteria. I personally wouldn't use one in a hotel or rental property without a hefty dose of savlon or dettol in the water first. Spend the money on a good powerful shower.0
