How long do businesses get to charge a service to a CC?

I had some work done on my car on the 12th July and the payment has yet to be charged to my CC.

Payment was taken by one of those old fashioned carbon swipe machines..

Out of interest does this method usually take a lot longer to process than a pin entry method and how long do companies get to charge your card before they are no longer legally able to..?

There is another thread around with a similar situation.

General consensus is that they have 6 years to claim the debt before it will become "statute barred".

I'd put money on the transaction appearing on your statement before too long.

Yes the carbon transactions take longer. The retailer will need to send to their bank who will then process them manually.

Some retailers will send this sort of thing in once a month
