try the acer aspire one £200inc VAT. 9 inch screen, wifi, 8gb flash hard drive. Plays DivX's. Has OpenOffice 2.3(saves MS office formats).

the asus eee pc 701 has a 7inch screen. I tried the acer aspire one in Dixons & found the screen usable for writing in the https://www.OpenOffice.org word processor(you can always change the text size anyway). The Linux operating system is basic - if you buy it from say https://www.cclonline.com or someone else you could try asking if they'll put in Linux Mandriva 2008.1(kde), which came out April 08(see http://images.google.co.uk & type in Mandriva 2008.1), or Linux Mandriva 2009(kde) which comes out October 08. Dixons won't do that. I'm still using Linux Mandriva 2007 with its impressive OpenOffice 2.0!
