As I said earlier ... Quincys sells itself as an American Diner and therefore in an American Diner one would expect to get American Diner style food ... which is not nouvelle or haute cuisine....jeez, next we will be complaining that KFC only sells chicken and that we should avoid Burger King because you can't get a decent steak in it.

Read what people are saying. Since your post of 23.11.04 no one has complained about the fact that Quincy's is an American Diner, just an american diner that produces poor quality food. Unless you are actually stating that all American Diners sell poor quality food!

And poor service, which is mostly what my original complaint was about.

Thats pretty much it ... The phrase American Diner and low quality food go hand in hand ... with the exception that some do exceedingly good steaks.

Luck of the draw I guess. I have had some great service in crap eating places and some crap service in high class eating places.

I can think of a couple of restuarnats were I love the food but would not go back due to bad service - including one waitress who made a snotty remark about me not tipping ... when did that ever become compulsory (I usually do tip but she was one of those people who would have really benefited from a personality transplant ... started off badly when I ordered a Budweiser and got that disgusting Budvar stuff and I sent it back).
